How often should you defrost the freezer?
Every six months. It goes on the list when you tell it the freezer frosts up.
What it actually is, and what shifts it
The frost is moisture out of the air that got in past the door seal. Close the door on a sheet of paper and try to pull it out: if it slides, the seal is the reason you are defrosting this often.
Put it on a list that reminds you
“Defrost the freezer”, every six months. Tick it when it is done and the next date is counted from that day, not from when it was due.
