How often should you clean the hob?

What it actually is, and what shifts it
Burnt-on food comes off far more easily while the hob is still warm than after it has set. A damp cloth left flat on the spot for five minutes will do most of the work that a scourer does badly.
Put it on a list that reminds you
“Clean the hob and splashback”, weekly. Tick it when it is done and the next date is counted from that day, not from when it was due.
